TimberNook of Lancaster County is offered as a service of Excentia, a nonprofit organization in Lancaster County. At TimberNook of Lancaster County, children have the chance to play together and independently, using stories, games, and experiences to have fun, learn, develop, and explore. Excentia believes in the TimberNook philosophy that the more children engage in self-directed play and take reasonable risks outdoors, the better equipped they are to be successful in home and school environments. Snacks and lunches are provided by parents. Children should come prepared for the day's weather. We will only use the shelter if a dangerous storm occurs. For all sessions (except Tiny Ones), drop-off will begin 5 minutes before the stated arrival time and pick-up must be completed 5 minutes post end time. Stated ages are suggested. Please contact us for consideration of children outside the range.

All TimberNook of Lancaster County sessions will be held at Climbers Run Nature Preserve ( a property of the Lancaster Conservancy) located at 226 Frogtown Road, Pequea, PA 17565.
This diverse site has wooded areas and well as open fields and a stream. We will have access to toilet facilities and a restored barn in case of dangerous weather.

Overview:

This program was designed for the smallest of our TimberNook adventurers. You and your child together will venture into the woods for creative play opportunities that engage the mind and challenge the senses, such as hosting a tea party in the garden, doing “construction work” in mud puddles, or experimenting with color in giant foam experiences. You’ll walk away each week brimming with ideas for inspiring unique, creative play at home as well. Programs may vary based on location.
