Program Overview

Program Details:
Balls in Motion! 9am-12pm
Children take on a hands-on, large-scale feat of engineering as they create and test out an oversized ball run in the woods. This field trip incorporates educational concepts in rich and meaningful ways involving math, science, engineering and design. Children will also have the opportunity to work together in collaboration, fostering group problem solving and at times, conflict resolution.
As a component of the field trip, teachers will be supplied with extension activities to bring back to the classroom
that are aligned with common core and next generation science standards, providing an additional depth to the day spent at TimberNook. Extension activities will be e-mailed when Field Trip registration is full or no less than 1 month prior to session.
Field trip is 100% outdoors. Please dress for the weather!
Parents: I will send out an email describing the role of parents/chaperones. Bring a seat if you do not want to sit on the ground or stand during the entire session. Bring snacks and water for the children, they work hard and often need refueling!! Lunches may be brought and eaten after completion of session. The Gabis Arboretum has trails, grassy fields, a railroad museum and playground, and many acres available to explore once TimberNook session ends!! Cost of session includes entrance fee.
No Refunds unless state or federal mandate closes public activities. If weather is expected to be too extreme, (tornado, lightning storm) the program will be rescheduled for an alternate date.
